Recently we had a wonderful evening of BBQ and fellowship with friends we hadn't seen in a while. As we were leaving this dear brother shared the words from this Psalm with us and reminded me that faith needs to be one step at a time. He continued to share how it would probably be if the Lord allowed the light to shine further ahead on the path than at our feet; most likely we would not go on because of fear and uncertainty (thus, removing our focus from the Lord, and His direction for us). But the Lord, being full of grace and mercy, only guides you and I one step at a time; thank you Lord.

The Lord is so faithful. It is His word that is a lamp before our feet and light's our path. It is His word that is our guide, lighting the pathway of our walk with Him.

There's a beautiful song that's based from this scripture. The lyric are, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. When I feel afraid think I've lost my way, still You're right there beside me. Nothing will I fear as long as You are near, please be near me to the end ..."

Sing confidently, "when I feel afraid think I've lost my way, still You're right there beside me. Nothing will I fear as long as You are near ...", for we have His promise that He is always right there beside us. Beloved, know He is there right beside you at this very moment. There's no need to fear, He's right there beside you, so go ahead and take that step of obedience.
