it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.
3“If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again
and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.
4“And you know the way where I am
going."
John 14:1-4
John, to my dear friends in Christ; it is great to be back, April and I had a great time visiting John, Angel and the grandchildren in Germany. We appreciate your prayers during our absence.
In John 14:2 we have another promise from Jesus, He has prepared a place for us in His Father's house. He tells us there are many dwelling places in His Father's house and He personally will prepare a place for us. You may ask, "How does He do that?", He does this, or in this case, did this through His death and resurrection. He Himself is the means by which He prepared a place for us. For we are welcomed in heaven as sons and daughters through Jesus Christ. You see, as believers the ugliness of our sin is not seen by the Father because our sin is forgiven and atoned for (covered over) through Jesus' death, otherwise we would not be welcomed by the Father. In Verse 3 Jesus tells us the place He will prepare for us will be with Him and wherever Jesus is, that's where we want to be. What an awesome promise we have from God and as we tell people of Jesus, tell them about this promise.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the promise that Jesus fulfilled in His death and resurrection. The promise that He has prepared a place for us with Him, help us to remember this promise as we go through our week, in Jesus name I Pray, Amen.
