26For consider your calling, brethren,
that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not
many noble; 27but God has chosen the foolish things of the world
to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame
the things which are strong,
28and the base things of
the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that
He may nullify the things that are,
29so that no man may boast before
God.
1 Corinthians 1:26-29
John, to my dear friends in Christ; in 1 Corinthians 1:26-28 we see that most of us (especially as the world sees us) are not wise, not mighty and not noble; but in actuality we are considered to be foolish. Now think about this for just a moment....
Have you ever felt like you were not good enough (foolish) to witness and tell someone about Jesus? To the world, we are foolish, and in 1 Corinthians 1:29 God selects the foolish things so no man can boast by his wisdom, might, or nobility. This should be a message of freedom to all of us. We should no longer feel the need to be wise, mighty, or noble to communicate Jesus Christ crucified to others. We are the foolish things God uses to confound the worldly (wise, mighty, and noble). I encourage each of you, as you witness to those around you, to remember that though you are foolish, you have Jesus Christ. Gently and Prayerfully tell others of the hope in your heart that can be available to them as well. You don't have to be an intellectual, but, tell them what you do know, "once I was blind but now I see", "once I was a slave to sin but I have been set free", "once I was doomed to everlasting death but now I have the inheritance of everlasting salvation" and Jesus can do the same for them!
Dear Heavenly Father, I pray as each of us goes about our business that we are a witness to those around us. I pray that each of us listens to the prompting of the Holy Spirit to ask Your simple questions of those around us, so we may plant seeds, water the ground, and if You allow, the privilege to witness the salvation of another soul, in Jesus name I Pray, Amen.
God's Many Blessings to You,
john
