Mr. Luppi is an independent consultant, with more than 20 years of experience in international companies, first in IT industry and then in Strategy Consulting firms.  His main focus is the impact of new technologies on existing processes and organization; he is particularly experienced in the Automotive Distribution segment.

Mr. Luppi has successfully conjugated and aligned ICT issues with business needs and company strategy: he has developed ICT Master Plans and has redesigned ICT organizations, for both multinational enterprises and government institutions.

He has gained a valuable expertise that allows him to define the big picture for all the main ICT and business issues (especially for industrial companies) and at the same time to deepen into specific technical subjects.

Mr. Luppi has been Program Director in Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, Senior Associate in Booz Allen Hamilton and worldwide Automotive Industry Expert in IBM (where he covered many technical & commercial roles).

Some of the significant projects that Mr. Luppi managed include:

� IT Organization and Master Plan definition for one of the major engine and powertrain companies in the world (with 16 plants and 7 R&D Centres in 9 different nations) and management of IT Program Office for Post Merger Integration

� IT Master Plan definition for a major oil company and program management for its deployment, with launch of the main selected initiatives (Data Warehouse, SAP extension, etc. )

� Post Merger Integration of two major European Bus Manufacturers (with research centres and plants in 5 different nations), where the Client was considering IT a key enabler to build a common operating environment and culture. In this engagement, he assessed and reviewed the Master Plan and supported its implementation

� Information Technology implications and opportunities due to expiration of �Block Exemption� law in Automotive industry for a major European Automotive Manufacturer.

� SAP Project Definition and set up for a major multinational company, from requirement identification to implementation strategy and definition of the process to select and manage System Integrators (including risk-sharing policy).

� Strategy definition for a Shared Services Organization to address the open market

� Information Technology implications for a Strategic Alliance between two major worldwide automotive manufacturers (competitors on the market), including departments spin off and the creation of international Joint Ventures.

� Strategy Definition for the Server Division of a major IT manufacturer, including evaluation of possible joint venture with other IT manufacturers ; he was responsible of a large, multinational and multicultural team

� Assessment of the Information & Communication Technology organization for a premiere government agency, with proposal for a new working model 

� Strategic Sourcing project for the Italian Treasury, evaluating the opportunities of saving and designing new working models in three main areas of Public Sector expenditures (Public Health, Universities, Local Administrations). In this assignment he was responsible for more than 40 consultants, from three different consulting firms.


While in IBM, Mr. Luppi was member of the Global Automotive Industry core team, whose objective was to define IBM worldwide strategy and marketing activities for Automotive Industry.   He was also worldwide responsible for Automotive Knowledge Network, category "Marketing, Sales & Services" (including intellectual contribution evaluation).

Mr. Luppi was proposal team leader, IT solution designer and project supervisor in a confidential project launched by a major Automotive Manufacturer to redesign the dealership model, aimed to reduce selling and service costs and to improve dealers' revenue, through new processes enabled by innovative IT tools, to gain a competitive advantage before Block Exemption expiration.

He was proposal team leader and solution designer in several projects within Automotive and Truck Industry in Marketing, Sales and Support areas, including Marketing Data Base, Call Centre, DCS (Dealer Communication System) redesign, DMS (Dealer Management System) selection, Workshop support, DMS and DCS integration.


Mr. Luppi was member of ICDP (International Car Distribution Programme), a non-profit organization, aimed to envision future developments in automotive selling and support (including virtual channels). 

He has been and still is keynote speaker at Conferences on Automotive Sales and After Sales.

Mr. Luppi received a University Degree cum laude in Electronic Engineering � Computer Science  from Politecnico di Milano.
