In the introduction to the novel, William Goldman claims that The Princess Bride story was actually written by a Florinese author named "S. Morgenstern", and that his father read the book to him when he was a child, when he had pneumonia. He says that this experience sparkled his love of reading and adventure stories. After reading the book years later, he realised that his father had abridge the book when reading it aloud, Goldman decided to "revise" The Princess Bride to include only the "good parts" of the tale. |

Count Tyrone Rugen is "The Six-fingered Man" Inigo so desperately seeks to avenge his father's death. The Count is invariably the Prince's only real confident and he has a passion for pain. The Count is the inventor of The Machine, a life-sucking beast in which Westley meets through the story, resulting in the need for Miracle Max. |

Miracle Max is the last surviving Miracle Man in Florin and was fired by Prince Humperdinck. Max holds an awful grudge against the Prince so when asked to perform a miracle that would cause Humperdinck great pain and suffering, he agreed with glee. |

Valerie is Max's wife. Max refers to her as his "witch" because Miracle Men are supposed to have a witch as an assistant. She is not a witch, but fills the bill when needed. |

Buttercup's beloved Westley is dead. Well, mostly dead. That means he's still slightly alive. Inigo and Fezzik are in dior need of the "Man in Black's" brains to make their attack on the castle a success. Inigo needs to get his revenge with Count Rugen and Fezzik is just the cheerleader. However, Westley still needs to save Buttercup from Humperdinck and can't very well do it in his current state. So this is where we need Miracle Mac. Inigo and Fezzik need a miracle. They need Westley brought back from mostly dead. Now, it is up to you, the player. Will you revive Westley to aid Inigo and Fezzik and save Buttercup, his true love? Or, will you leave him to rot and let Humperdinck get his grubby mitts on the lovely lady? |

Count Rugen has no clue Inigo is on his trail, and Buttercup does not want to marry Humperdinck, not with the hope of her sweet Westley coming to save her still sparkling in her heart. Buttercup does not know Westley is dead, or that it was Humperdinck that killed him. So now, player, will you let Humperdinck marry the most beautiful woman in the world? Or, delay the wedding in hopes Westley will arrive to sweep Buttercup off her feet an onto his horse for a getaway? |
