In 1791, plantation owner Louis de Pointe du Lac is unhappy with the life he has. After his brother's death, for which he blames himself, Lestat de Lioncourt comes into his life, convincing him to let himself and his blind dying father live with him. Lestat, a vampire, forcefully takes enough blood from Louis to force him to make the decision to either die or live as a vampire forever. And not until his decision is already made, does Louis realize what he has become. He refuses to take human life, preferring the blood of rats instead. Louis kills a servant of his household when the bloodlust becomes too much and is about to leave when Lestat, turns a little orphan girl into a vampire to make Louis stay.
In Corpus Noor, the Sims are set at the very beginning of the book, when Louis is not yet a vampire. |
