The Book                                                                                     
Dorian Gray is the principal character in the only novel published by Oscar Wilde. Dorian starts his life as a young man who is eager to experience all that life has to offer. A talented pianist, handsome, charming and charismatic, he also has an ideal personality to be led astray by other, more unscrupulous people.

After having his portrait painted by Basil Hallward, Dorian makes a fateful wish - that the portrait would age instead of him, and that he would remain as handsome and young as he was right then.

His wish was granted and the portrait altered in his place, at first only slightly, then more and more as under the influence of Lord Henry Wotton, Dorian sank to lower and lower depths. Finally, hidden away on the top floor of this house, the painting reflected the true monster that Dorian had allowed himself to become. Only after Dorian's death did the painting return to its original form.

Dorian Gray in Vall�e de l'Ombre is at one of the crossroad in his life. The wish has been granted and the innocent Sybil has died after Dorian's rejection. Not wishing anyone to see the picture Dorian has hidden it away on the top floor of his house, accessible via a door that is locked for all but him. Away from London and the influence of Lord Henry, Dorian has the chance to turn his life around, but it will be up to you as whether or not he does.
