The Book                                                                                     
Anita Blake lives in St. Louis, but a different St. Louis to the one we know. In this parallel world the supernatural not only exist but strive to co-exist with humans. Vampires have rights and own businesses, werewolves (and any other were-animal you canthing of) live amongst humans, zombie raising is a thriving business and Anita Blake lives right in the middle of things.

Amongst the people in her life are Jean-Claude, Master Vampire of the City, a powerful businessman and an expert manipulator, and Richard Zeeman, a high school science teacher who struggles to keep his werewolf identity a secret from the human community. Anita loves both of them and through her own preternatural powers is bound to them for the rest of her life, weither she wants to be or not.

The series of book chronicles the life and choices of Anita and are variably classed as fantasy, mystery or horror novels... depending on which store you shop at.

For the purposes of Corpus Noor, Anita and Richard have decided to take a break from St. Louis and reside together in Vall�e de l'Ombre in order to see if they do have any hope of building a normal life together. But will they succeed or will their past catch up with them? The Sims are designed to be at the stage in their relationship before Anita and Richard split up, which is part way through the series of book.
