Visual Literacy Semester 2 |
|
The second semester of Visual Literacy focused on speculative drawing and color.
The first rotation of the semester was speculative drawing. Our professor was "Mr. Vince", an internationally recognized designer of "wearable art". You can see his work here.
We had a couple of drawings which we did, initially, consisting of doodles and nightmares. Subsequently, there were two main projects, a shelter, and a self-portrait. |

The shelter was to accomodate two adults, and provide shelter in an environment of our choice. Our team (a team of four people) chose a wind-blown environment for our shelter.
We were given an amount of nylon fabric, and then, we had to provide the remainder of the materials. |

The completed shelter. The shape was a half-teardrop for aerodynamics, and the decoration, a "coreolus", reinforces the impact of the shape. (Remember, we're just learning!) |
