| When we first took possesion of our boat, there were mini-blinds throughout the boat. We immediately took them down, because they are nice dust catchers and also mold collectors, because you can't reach all the places behind them to clean the area. We wanted to go as simple and easy as possible and not being fans of high-tech innovations in the area of curtains, the Wife did sew curtains, one side with a pattern, the other a simple beige fabrics. The Man then took for each port two little hooks and screwed them into the wood. Then he connected the hooks with small picture wire. The Wife bought some curtain rings (10 pieces for about $2), clipped them on the rectangled curtains and voila! Our curtains were ready for action. The positive side of this simple system is that the port can be completely freed and easily cleaned, while mini-blinds do not allow for this. Also, because the curtains are simply clipped onto the rings, the Wife can sew curtains with different patterns and easily exchange them, when she thinks the old pattern doesn't fit her mood that day!:-)) |
