Gail Platt:
Mum of the family, damaged after a string of events shattered her, including husband Brian's death, Martin (her ex-husband) having an affair and marrying Richard Hillman, who turned out to be a serial killer. Was almost killed by Hillman when he drove the family car into the canal.

Martin Platt:
Gail's ex-husband, he had an affair with a nurse and thus they split. Love interests have included Sally Webster and Katy Harris.

Sarah Louise Platt:
One of the most unlucky teens in the world. Became pregnant at 13 and had her baby kidnapped by pyscho Alison. Became involved with an internet paedophile and was rescued in the nick of time after being kidnapped. Became involved with bad boy Ade Critchley which resulted in a joyriding smash. Bethany electrocuted herself but luckily survived. Serial Killer Stepdad Richard drove the whole family into a canal. Got engaged to Todd Grimshaw, who revealed he was gay while she was pregnant with his child. Brenda Ferns kidnapped Bethany and dangled her from a Church. Her baby Billy tragically died. Slept with Todd's brother Jason. Todd found out and left the street.

David Platt:
Mischevious and funny, David is the youngest child, and mates with Craig Harris and Rosie Webster.
