ORDER OF BUSINESS
CORONADO TOASTMASTERS CLUB
of Albuquerque begins each regular meeting with a short business meeting. The goal is to maximize the amount of time members practice speaking. The agenda is listed below, but some portions are usually omitted* for sake of time.Call to Order - The President says, “The meeting will please come to order.”
Roll Call - Members say, “Present” as their names are called. (Usually omitted)
Minutes - The secretary reads a record of the last meeting. (Usually omitted)
Officer’s Reports - Often limited to a Treasurer’s Report. (Usually omitted)
Committee Reports - First Standing Committees, then Special Committees.
Special Orders - Important business previously scheduled for this meeting. (Usually omitted)
Unfinished Business - Business left-over from previous meetings. (Usually omitted)
New Business - Introduction of new topics.
Announcements - Informing the assembly of other subjects and events.
Program - Toastmaster of the Day runs this part of the meeting.
Adjournment - The meeting ends by vote, general consent, or by the President if a pre-arranged vote selected an adjournment time.
* Portions that are usually omitted from the weekly program may be included in the Executive Committee meetings. These meetings normally involve only the Club Officers and meet when requested by the Club President.
