CORONADO TOASTMASTERS of Albuquerque
Chief Evaluator/Assistant Evaluator
The GENERAL EVALUATOR: evaluates the scheduled speakers & the other meeting functions. He often uses an Assistant Evaluator.
This role is an opportunity for you to help encourage others to greater levels of performance. So, as someone once said, "Keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them." This is not as hard as it sounds.
Toastmasters oftens advocates the use of the 3-part, "sandwich technique" when delivering an evaluation. Simply put, first comment on an aspect of the speech, role or meeting that YOU FELT was done well. Then, briefly describe an area that YOU FELT could have been done better. Finally, talk about some other point YOU FELT was done well.
The emphasis here is to encourage speakers and program participants through positive reinforcement while emphasizing how the material affected you and NOT how it was performed. For information on other roles, meeting times and where to find us in Albuquerque, please visit the Coronado Toastmasters Club homepage: www.geocities.com/coronadotm.
