"Toastmasters in the News"
What does Toastmasters have to offer you?
The purpose of this page is to catalog recent newspaper and magazine articles about Toastmasters and its positive affect on our members, guests, businesses and communities.
The following articles are placed here to help more people learn about the communication and leadership skills to be gained through membership in a Toastmasters Club. Wherever possible, credit is given to the author.
Many people have never heard of Toastmasters even though it began in 1924 and now has more than 10,500 clubs in over 90 countries. Because Toastmasters International is a non-profit organization, it does not have large advertising budgets full of television commercials and slick magazine ads. Knowledge of the organization and its purpose is spread primarily through word-of-mouth and through the internet.
Fortune 500 businesses, however, know that employees who are also Toastmasters have a competitive edge over those who do not participate. Further, their employees realize these skills often lead to many benefits like increased pay, recognition and personal confidence. So find out if your company has a Toastmasters Club. If not, go to the Toastmasters International website to learn where to find a club near you or how to start one within your organization. That website is www.toastmasters.org
