A friend showed up one day and said he'd like a large plane with a swept wing built for a 60 size engine, a few hours and a bit of coro later we came up with this little beauty. Probably the largest hand launch plane at our field anyways. 48" span with a 24" root cord
The DDT, Delta Dawg Target.
Just renamed her today, It is now a target. For anti-aircraft gunners courses that is. Take a look at OVERKILL at the bottom of the page.
You have to admit it does look a bit strange watching someone hand launch a plane this size. All he did was to give it a very light toss if any at all and away it went.
At speed it's pretty fast and maneuverable. Nice rolls and inverted flight as well as quite comfortable and predictable. At low speed it is amazing, almost hovering at idle drifting around like a slow flyer. I have not seen a lot of planes with the flight envelope of this thing. Not to mention landing is easy to place almost at your feet.

OVERKILL
Here are a few more pics of OVERKILL, that's an O.S. 61 bearinged engine with pump and a tuned pipe. I can't wait to get her up in the air. Will have to get some pics and a flight report up as soon as possible.
I found some hardwware today and what a plane. Unlimited vertical, the gentlest landing of any I've flown. An all around performer, great top speed and unbelievable low speed. You'd almost think I had a clue what I was doing.
At the beginning of the evening the wind was gusting horribly but that only made the plane easier to launch. You wouldn't know there was a wind the way it flew. Once trimmed it flew straight and true. Hands off , no adverse characteristics. Tight loops, not bad roll rate, a very stable bird all around. I was very impressed, there are currently four of these at our field and would you believe I haven't drawn one up yet. I keep using the original as a template.
When I do get something drawn up for this one I will post it here, check back soon.
