Title of Your Page
My Dad
You've been gone since '86,
It seems so long ago.
I missed you then, I miss you now,
More than you'll ever know.
I think about you often,
In this span of years since then.
It seems the good we have in life,
Must surely someday end.
The Lord knew that your illness,
Would get the best of you.
He led you home in that cold month,
It was the best thing He could do.
The last time that I saw you,
A tear rolled down your cheek.
You knew the time was getting short,
Your body was so weak.
I miss the strength you showed me,
When my life had taken turns.
Your guidance and your caring,
Still, within me burns.
Across that mighty threshold,
Angels carried you from death.
The Lord God, ever present,
As you breathed in your last breath.
From the darkness of the valley,
To the light that shines above.
You're now a saint in Heaven,
Safe in our Savior's love.

My dad became a born-again christian while in a nursing home in Bloomsburg, Penna. and got saved shortly before death.
He was a devoted father and husband. He was a man of principles and a good provider.
A genetic disease struck him in 1984, and he passed away, two years later, from Lou Gehrig's disease at age 67.
Those two years saw this disease progress along a path to paralysis, and eventually, death.
My mother took care of him at home until she could no longer. It took alot out of her, but God was there for her.
It's been a long time, but we still miss and love you, daddy/grandpa.
