Rockhampton Star
The Rockhampton Star was built in 1957, by Cammell Laird and Co. Ltd., Birkenhead, as Yard No. 1277, for Blue Star Line Ltd., London. In 1964 she was transferred to Lamport & Holt for their service to South America, still remaining in Blue Star colours, being transferred back a year later.

This picture was taken while waiting orders in the Carrick Roads, Falmouth in Autumn 1976.
She returned in 1981, and went up the river, and lay on the buoys at King Harry, on the River Fal. Whilst there the funnel was painted black, within a day of arrival, and was later sold to Greek interests, connected to Kappa Maritime. They made a template to put her new name on, but when it was painted on the ship, it was put on back-to-front and so her name was spelt YDAL NEDLOG, instead of GOLDEN LADY. The name was soon put back right. She arrived in Chittagong Roads on 20.6.1983 for Breaking up in Bangladesh.
