Cornerstone Gardens |

Cornerstone Gardens is a nursery where I grow a wide variety of perennials and ornamental grasses. It was started in 1990 on 1 acre and when I started there was nothing growing here other than a few spruce trees. I have planted everything here ...at least once! Most everything I sell is growing in one of many display beds giving you the chance to see the plant in a mature setting. Email me if you would like to visit, order plants or have any questions. |

Growing hosta is a passion of mine. I have a huge collection of them and I am always adding new varieties. I like them because they are very hardy and come in such a wide variety of sizes and leaf forms. From Venusta with leaves the size of a thumbnail to Sum and Substance with leaves over 12" across and everything in between. Leaf colors range from green, blue and gold with many interesting combinations. |

I grow hundreds of varieties of daylilies. If there is a foolproof perennial this has to be it. Daylilies are almost indestructible! They grow in nearly any soil and have very few pests. Although they prefer sun, ample moisture and rich soil they are very forgiving and grow anywhere. They come in hundreds of color combinations and bloom from late spring until early fall. |

I am always trying new perennials and recently started growing Tree Peonies. I am impressed with their ability to grow and flower in various conditions. The flowers are huge, sometimes measuring 6"-8" across, and their rich green foliage makes them attractive all season long. Once established, they can live for many years, in fact, there are specimans in Japan that are hundreds of years old. They come in so many gorgeous colors. |

I also grow a huge assortment of ornamental grasses. They come in so many different forms, sizes and colors that it is mindboggling. I particularly like the many Miscanthus varieties, especially the variegated types. Another of my favorites is Panicum Cloud Nine seen above billowing over the smaller Miscanthus Yaku Jima. Ornamental grasses are among the easiest plants to grow, withstanding even severe droughts. |
