This is my mum, Christene F. Holt (maiden name Shelby), who I was not named after. :( My mother has been a rockin' stay at home mom until recent years when she decided to finish what she started 30 some odd years ago at University in sunny San Diego, by way of earning a undergrad degree in Education from CMU, which she will do in the near future. She will probably be the top graded person in her graduating class.....I would bet thousands on it. Throughout the years my mother has shown her great ability to be compassionate whenever us kids needed someone to cry to, and brilliant when we needed someone to teach us how to be smart during our home schooled years. She has always been an equal partner in the team of her and my father that has brought us from the hardship of California, to the comfortable living of Michigan. When you need a women to show you how it should be done, look to my mom. |

This is my father, Daniel T. Holt, who I was named after. He teaches writing at a local college, and has been doing so for over ten years! He is full of knowledge, whether it be in writing, film, politics, housing and especially music (I could go on, but I will refrain). What I really like about my dad is his loyalty and ability to care. Over the many hardships and hard times our family has experienced in our first few years, and even through our current struggles, my dad has been there along with my mother to keep the Holt train running. He never seems to falter in his endless pursuit to be a great dad, provider and husband. He's also a total goof, and you don't really know my dad at all until you know his humourous side. Let's hope some day that my similar name will be accompanied by a similar ability to be totally freakin' sweet. |

This is the eldest of the family, Jonathan T. He is an artist in the truest sense of the word. He looks for sincerity in all work, and if someone does a half ass job, you know you're gonna hear about it. Throughout the years, Jona (as he is affectionately called) has been a great leader of a big brother, a great artist and a great wrestling partner, even to this day. Not only that, he is one of the most observant people I know. While this may only be seen as a benefit to aid him in his art of choice, it has also given him the enviable gift of consideration for others' feelings. He never buys me CDs ( :-( ) but he's totally lovable anyway. |

The second eldest in our family of Holts, is Rebekah J. This girl can be described in one word - brilliant. She's the first of us to make her way to Grad school, and is one of five out of a 50+ student body of Grad Freshman who were given close to a full ride to the University she is attending in California. She is constantly reading: fantasy, fiction, theological, philosophical etc. She knows everything about the world's religions, or at least so it seems sometimes. However, aside from her smarts, it is utterly impossible to say you know Bekah unless you can say that she is hi-larious. Rebekah very well may be the funniest person I know. She has an ability for quirky humor that totally rivals the likes of many great comedic films she adores: Zoolander, The Wedding Crashers, Anchorman etc. As with all my siblings, I could write a book about her ability to be cool, but I will stop here. The only thing against her is the fact that she never buys me CDs. For this I cry. |

Here is the always "issue stricken" middle child, Kathryn M. However, my sister never seems to be the one for conformity, seeing as she seems to break away from her stereotypical role quite well. Kathryn is the dancer of the family. She has been dancing since she was wee-high. She has more compassion for it than I could ever have, and while we often disagree on matters related to dance, Kathryn knows her shit, and I consider every opinion she has with great weight. Kathryn is so lovable it is not even funny....well sometimes it is funny, and that's why she's lovable actually. She also is one of those people who will tell you like it is, no matter how it might hurt, just because she cares about you. I think it is this that spurs Kathryn to be one of the most loyal people I know. She will stick up for those in distress in an instant, and won't back down when the going gets tough. I love her dearly, even when she glares. However, it is regrettable that she never buys me CDs. This hurts my heart. |

Last, but certainly not least is my little sister, Mary B. Bernie (as she is affectionately called) is a hoot. She is a talented singer and musican that has the ability to "play by ear," an ability she has inherited from my father. She has yet to decide for 100% if this will be the area which she takes her life, but at such a young age that's ok. Besides, with Mary's charisma, smarts and natural talent, I have no doubt that she will be great at whatever she decides to do....especially if it's musical. Mary also is one of the most carefree people I know - an ability to be envied no doubt. She has a great personality that can pick you up when you're sad, and a glare that shows her strength to make you sad. ;) By this I only mean that Mary is not to be taken lightly. True, she may be short, true, she may be thin, and true, she look innocent. However, beneath this exterior is a fire of a woman that only the bravest would oppose. Mary's my little sister, and while I feel I have to, I never need to take care of her. another plus, she buys me CDs. Hmmm, we have a contender for the "Best Sibling." |
