| Corn And Disc (A Very Good Idea With A Very Bad Name And An Ugly Web Page) GOAL The goal behind Corn N Disc is to establish and improve the line of communication and cooperation between Ultimate teams within (but not limited to) a basic geographic location (West to Central Illinois). Hopefully this will lead to many more inner team scrimmages and inexpensive tournaments thus creating a positive environment for both new and experienced players to develop their game. Also have a new contact for Decatur Ultimate... All of you should update your information on the UPA contacts page....much of the info for CnD teams is outdated.... Thurs. Feb 24 I think ISU has filled their bids for the Stanely Cup....The Parrots and Springfield were the final two teams entered... Have finally added contact emails to the page for most of the CnD teams...If you wish to change (or remove) your contact please get hold of me.... Hopefully will be adding a few more teams in the near future..If you know of any teams that may be interested please let me know. Tues. Bradley stepped up when Augi didn't arrive on Saturday...They were called Sat. evening..assembled a team in an hour and arrived first thing Sunday morning.. They went 2-2 with no female subs... an very good performance on short notice.. Chicago sent a Titcomb free team which meant no freestyle for me..damn.. Western Rocks.. Athletes, talent, desire and leadership.. A very good bunch of kids who showed heart in two hard fought wins vs. the Knox Alumni... Can't say enough about the Alum team...always fun to watch Ben play and Jen came back from Oregon for the games.. It is this kind of interest and influence which has helped Knox maintain a great program for so many years...And while next year Alex, Sue and Tom JOIN the alums they are leaving a very healthy program full of talented freshmen and sophmores.... The game of the weekend was the Western vs. Knox Alumni Semifinal...it stared with an ugly injury to Ned from the alums...Western jumped out to a commanding lead.. the Alum team came back to tie the game and then Western ended the game on a deflected pass for the winning score... INJURY UPDATE From Kevin who spoke with Rob Clark.. Ned suffered a single break of a bone in his ankle and as a result one of his leg bones popped out of place..It was a clean break..They were able to pop the bone back into place and put it in a soft cast...Surgery is expected in the next couple of days.... Knox A won the tournament and got revenge for a Saturday defeat by beating Western 13-8...
