| This is my 1995 CBR 600 F3. It is my 2nd bike and is much faster than the old Interceptor. This is what it looked like when I got it: | |||||||||||||||||||||

| 1995 was the first year of the F3 and it offered many improvements over the F2 which was also a fantastic bike. The biggest change is the addition of a dual stage ram air system.. The F3 is extremely well manered and forgiving when riding hard. It is a little heavy by modern sportbike standards at 400 or so pounds dry, but it has a very rigid steel perimiter frame that is partly responsible for the superb handling. Reliability is superb (it's a Honda after all). The only two problem areas on the F3s are the Regulator/Rectifier and the cam chain tensioner. Both are discussed in the CBR FAQ. I upgraded both on my bike. The low end on 600 Supersports are tylpically a little weak. I upgraded the rear sprocket (added 2 teeth) and added an ignition advancer which has the bike really coming to life at about 5000 RPM. at 11,000RPM the bike is scary fast and the Vance and Hines pipe makes the bike sound like an army of banshees being fed into a woodchipper by Miguel Dunhammel! I'm running Metzler Sportec M1s. They are very sticky, and warm up fast. I got a good deal on them at Werkstatt in San Francisco. They do really good work and are very reasonably priced. I added custom grille inserts to the access panels just for the hell of it. |
