About Counselling
Counselling is a confidential relationship that offers a safe place for you to explore difficulties in your life. Such difficulties may arise from an immediate crisis or from a general feeling of lack of meaning and purpose in life.
The counsellor offers a non-judgemental and caring relationship in which you can explore your feelings and behaviour. By getting to know yourself better, this can reduce anxiety and ease depression in a deep way.
Counselling can help you to see your difficulties more clearly, increase your insight and objectivity and enable you to make choices about what to do. It enables you to re-find your own resources from within, to approach life and problems in a fresh way.
Counselling takes place regularly (usually weekly) and can be undertaken on a short-term or long-term basis.
