http://www.netcom.com/~cork26 For Immediate Release Landscape Photographer Opens Cyberspace Gallery(Atlanta, GA)--July 17, 2000--Landscape photographer Cardell Phillips announced the opening of his cyberspace photography gallery today on the world wide web. Phillips is an African-American nature photographer who has trained his camera on some of the most beautiful wilderness areas in North America. They include the Canadian Rockies, Southwestern Desert, and the Great Smokey Mountains.Phillips has been photographing wilderness areas for the past 10 years. He says that he developed an apprectiation of nature on his grandparents farm where, as a boy, he spent his summer vacations. An avid photographer since high school, he became interested in landscape photography after taking a vacation in the Canadian Rockies. "I was inspired by the Mountains," says Phillips, who grew up on the Southside of Chicago. "I'd seen pictures of the mountains, but that doesn't prepare you for seeing them up close. I try to communicate the grandeur of the landscape in my photographs."Phillips work is known for its sense of design and color. He has exhibited his work in art galleries, bookstores, banks, and now on the worldwide web. He is a self-taught photographer. #### |
