They say they can't effect you
That they don't mean
as much Spoken, or heard
They can't hurt you
They can't effect your emotions
Because they can't be heard
Hearing is only a perception
To a deaf person spoken
words Are meaningless
To someone who's halfway
there It's something in between
They both effect you
And can change your mood for the day
They can even change an argument
Between lovers,
Fighters,
Countries
So then you hear the phrase
They are only words
They still hurt
They still soothe
They still sting
They still bring happiness
They still express emotion
But they are only words
Or can they be deeper
Can they be something that
You couldn't say with your mouth
You decide,
Keep it to yourself
Tell the world
