KUNDALINI in the traditions of great religions
In Christian Traditions, she may be assimilated at the Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost, Sacred Breath, or simply to the Spirit of God.
Read CHRIST AND KUNDALINI  from Knowledge of Reality
From the Aquarian Gospel of Jesus Christ we read : "The Holy Breath knocks at the door of every soul, but cannot enter until the will of man throws wide the door" (chapter 44, v. 19)
First of all, what is the Kundalini?

The word Kundalini comes from Sanskrit "Kundal" meaning coiled up. It is the Primordial Dormant Energy present in three and half coils at the base of the spine in the sacrum bone.  Her Holy residence in the Sacrum (=sacred) bone is known from the Ancient Greeks and the Egyptians, as well as other traditions.  It is also called Holy Grail, container of the Water of Life.
The Kundalini, nourrishing the "tree of life", is described in details in the Upanishads.
Genesis (I,2) : "And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters"

The Hebrew word for "Spirit" is ruach, which is the feminine from of the word for Spirit our Breath.
In Genesis (III,8) : "And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the COOL of the day..." interestingly enough, the word "cool" in this passage is the exact same Hebrew word, ruach, that is use for  Spirit in the feminine form.
In the Gnostic Gospel of Thomas, Jesus speaks about the divine feminine power : "My mother gave me birth. My true Mother gave me Life."
In the Tradition of Islam, the Kundalini is the Divine Presence within us, it is the Potential Divine Power within each of us.
She is also symbolised by the "female horse with female face" Buraq on w
hich the Prophet sits when taken to Jerusalem.
Actually it is the Kundalini, the feminin power of God within all of us that takes the Prophets through the 7 heavens.
And at the  moment of the realisation, She takes us through those heavens or
chakras within us, giving us our ascent or Self Realisation.
And so we
arrive at a state where we start to know our Self : "He who knows him Self, knows God" to quote the words of the Prophet. Read YOGIC INSIGHT INTO ISLAM from KoR
Carl Jung on Kundalini : "You see, the Kundalini in psychological terms is that which makes you go on greatest adventure. (...) It is the quest that makes life livable, and this is Kundalini; this is the Divine urge." (The Psychology of Kundalini Yoga, Carl Jung, lecture, 1932)

Another quote on Awakening the Divine within : "To activate the unconscious means to awaken the Divine, the Devi, the Kundalini - to begin the development of the suprapersonal within the individual in order to kindle the light of the gods(*). Kundalini, which is to be awakened in the sleeping Muladhara world, is the suprapersonal, non ego,... For this reason Kundalini is the same principle as the Soter the Saviour Serpent of the Gnostics(**)." (same lecture)

(*) that is the Divine Qualities within us
(**) or the Divine Wisdom (Sophia), the Holy Ghost...
In  ancient writings of the Bible and also Gnostic records... the energy now known by many today as Kundalini energy is called by various names such as : Sophia, Life, Mother of the living or Wisdom. This force called Wisdom is likened to a feminine energy, and even a feminine personality... named as She and Her. In these writings the words : She... Her... Wisdom and Holy Spirit are used interchangeably to refer to this feminine aspect of the Divine. Also later known in Christian texts as the Holy Ghost, Comforter, Counsellor and Redeemer.
"When the sleeping Kundalini is awakened by the grace of the Guru, then all the lotuses
(the Chakras) and knots (granthis) are pierced."
(Hathayogapradipika (1893) (III, 2)

And I would add : "and brings Inner Peace and Divine bliss while we are in a state beyond all thoughts...

He who knows... "The Kundalini-shakti, who sleeps above the kanda (Muladhara) gives liberation to Yogin's... He who knows her knows Yoga." (Hathayogapradipika 3:107)
So lies the Kundalini, Very small and coiled three and a half times, Like a female Serpent  With her head turned downwards. She is like a ring of lightening. Folds of flaming fire, Or a bar of pure gold. (Gnyaneshwar : Jnaneshwar's Gita, New York 1989) (Serpent=symbol of wisdom)
