Having spent two years dealing with an English Literature course and dealing with frankly disturbing websites aimed at "helping" homework crises I decided to set up my own. This site therefore aims to take out all of the crap that you don't need to know whilst including all those things that you really need the day before your major essay is due. While this site is still under construction I appreciate that the selection provided may be a bit on the small side but I aim to provide detailed information on each work of literature, including critical information and links with other works so you can astound your teacher with your fantastic knowledge. Unless otherwise indicated all work is my own and you're free to use what you want. All essays are either A-Level grade A standard or degree level.
Just so that you know a little about me I'm Corinne, 18, from Leeds, England (some of you may know me as Gatsbygirl/Gatzgirl from the Sparknotes noticeboards). I'm currently at Oxford University (St Anne's College) reading for a degree in English Literature and Language . You might be able to discern a slight feminist bias, especially on some of the essays on this site but I have tried to keep this under control (and yes it has been hard!).
If you have any specific questions about anything featured on this site or would like to argue with me about anything please contact me (please note that as much as I would like to answer all queries I just don't have the time, so if you desperately need something for your homework don't count on a reply. Sorry) :
Equally one of the main purposes of this site is to collect essays together and display them without you being charged five dollars for the pleasure of viewing a single one. Therefore if you have any essays you wish to donate (about any novel, play or poem) please send them to my email address.
