Some rather random, and often very strange, links to sites that I like.
Feminist Links: While I would love to be able to include lots of links which are dedicated to feminism in the UK I have to say, with a heavy heart, that there's practically nothing out there. In this world it seems the USA still rules. Feminist.com : One of the very best feminist sites out there. Lots of information, articles and ways to get involved. Hasn't been upadated since the end of last year though. Still worth a look for anyone who hasn't been there before. The Feminist Majority A, noticeably American, grouping of feminists (both male and female). Fantastic for anyone wanting to set up a group of like minded feminists. Very helpful, with some really good products for sale. Personally feel it does have a little bit of an authoritarian leaning though. Bust The definitive magazine for third wavers. Is currently in dire financial troubles and everyone should therefore support it as it returns to its non-commercial roots. Go get a subscription! Cuntzilla A fantastic feminist e-zine, that aims to show that feminism is for everyone. And yes I am totally biased since I've written for it! All Things Girl In the words of an annoying advert, this website does exactly what it says on the tin. All things girl, and lots of it. Plus a new and fantastic e-zine. And yes I'm biased about this as well! Feminista Another really good e-zine. Has a really good link to the top 100 female writers of the 20th century - don't agree with their choice of Mrs Dalloway over The Waves though! Soapbox Girls An "adult" feminist e-zine. Includes some pretty mind-boggling articles about health issues. Plus it's their porn issue comming up soon! Equality Now If you feel like you want to take some action this site is for you. Join up (it's free) and you get lots of information on how you can put your feminist principles into practice. Amnesty: Women A special part of Amnesty devoted to women's rights. Unfortunately is the American part of Amnesty International as the UK website doesn't have a dedicated section. As always though very, very, good. V-Day The site which campaigns for an end to violence against women. Visit and see how you can get involved in V-Day 2002.
Oxford Links: Should you want to know more about the strange world of Oxford University here are some links. Bethan's World Poetic-Even-More-Feminist-Than-Me-Welsh-Girl's website. Has lots of pictures of St Anne's College, as well as pictures of some of the people you may have read about in my diary, including, erm,me. Plus, if you need any more reasons to visit ,there is some truely fantastic poetry. St Anne's JCR The website maintained by St Anne's JCR (ie. us lot). If you should happen to wander into the rooms directory, mine's 32 Wolfson. Oxford Student The best of our two student newpapers, affectionly known as the OxStu. Obviously, considering me, this is our leftie paper - though, bizarrely, has a blue logo. Cherwell The second of our two student newspapers. A rightie, with a red logo (someone obviously spent too much time a college bar when thinking up this). In pretty serious financial trouble last term, but seems to be pulling through. OUDS The Oxford University Drama Society website. Really the only society I'm interested in, I admit somewhat sadly. Oxford University Poetry Society Pretty self explanatory really. Oxford University The official University site. Enough said. St Anne's College The official St Anne's College site.
Random Links: These are all websites which I like but don't fit into a particular catagory. Diaryland The fantastic site which hosts my online diary -for free! Go have a look, get your own diary and then tell me about it! Go do it now! Robbie Williams The official site of the one and only Robbie. Mighty Big TV An absolutely fantastic site which reviews various tv programmes. Only they hate all of them. For any Dawson's Creek fan the reviews are a necessity. American site though, so if you're uk bound and don't want to know what happens next, don't visit. Sparknotes A fantastic homework site, with very active message boards. Unfortunately don't have much time to post now, but still have a place in my heart for one of the first sites I ever discovered. Gardy Loo A literature discussion forum. Recent discovery but seems very interesting.
