| Jasper and NatureBoy |

| Jasper (left) was the first chick that I ever hand fed. I got her when I got Rose and Speedy as a birthday present, and she was about three weeks old. She and NatureBoy (right) we mates, and are Peach Faced Lovebirds. Our neighbors found NatureBoy at their house. He was attracted to their lovebirds, but they thought he belonged to us. We came and got him, and he stayed with us for a while. His name is NatureBoy because he's wild. |
| Our birds are in a makeshift aviary on the side of our house. Jasper found a way to escape out of the bottom (before I closed it off), and we never saw her again. |
| Later, NatureBoy was just a loner in our aviary, and I felt really bad for him. He was always being picked on and chased by my other two pairs, Rose and Speedy, and Tigger and Apollo. I have a friend who had Lovebirds and wanted more, so I gave NatureBoy to her. He is now very happy with a new mate. They usually mate for life, but I think he was desperate for a new Love. |
