THE ANIMALS
The Barracuda
This is Jennifer. Jennifer has a problem. Jennifer is dating the Barracuda.
This, is the Barracuda. And yes, that is a mad, red eye...
JENNIFER (right) with me.
YASHA
This is Yasha, 'Sha sha', or 'Gangster Cat'. She was my world until she went missing in May 1998 before her 4th (in human years) birthday. The photo doesn't do her justice. She has the most beautiful, large eyes. Abyssinians do. I had a good photograph of her with her 'Ernie' toy, but it was in a box which was stolen when I was moving after my second year of University (sometime after she went missing). This is the best of the few photos I have left of her.
OSCAR ERNIE the CATZILLA
YASHA - Missing since 05/1998
OSCAR
Oscar Ernie the Catzilla is the latest addition to the family and was discovered one day by Liam (Oscar claims that it was he who discovered Liam because Liam sounded like a bird - or at least his car locking system did). Oscar is an Ernie because he wears the same stripey T-shirt as Ernie in Sesame Street and because he likes to traumatise his own 'Bert' (who in his life is an absurd cat with a bell called 'Katy'). Oscar is a Catzilla because he likes to destroy human arms and various trouser legs for kicks.
TOSCA
Tosca , named after Puccini's opera, is as her name suggests, elegant, sophisticated, and quite unlike her travel mate Yasha (who incidentally finds the release of noxious gases in your face humorous), nor is she like the Barracuda (who incidentally finds the release of noxious gases in your face humorous).
Nevertheless, it was the Barracuda who insisted that he wanted a 'Russian Blue' cat, probably because he is secretly a Bolshevik. Unfortunately, like all the ironies in life, Tosca neither likes fish, nor the Barracuda.
MABEL
Mabel was my everything before Yasha. Yasha and Tosca were 2 to replace the 1 Mabel after she passed away in 1993. Mabel was magic. She appeared one day and stole our hearts. Because of Mabel, the world made sense to me.
TOSCA, now aged 7+
MABEL CHEW, deceased. Found 1988 - 1993
And then, there's me...
