ahhhh...guildworks kites....my achilles heel.....i love them.....the triangular black/purple/blue 333 (3 lines) was my first one about 1995.....since then as you can see i have amassed quite a collection....and this is just the multi line kites that i own by Marc Ricketts....then there is the single line stuff too...but that will take another day to photograph....i just love these kites....just do...so if you are looking for any of these kites or other kites that guildworks makesjust let me know at high flyers or you can always go to marc's website....i am also one of the few people out there that will work on these kites....not just the frame but all of those litle tension lines too....enjoy the pix....i have more older versions than marc does himself....he told me!!!! |

my collection of 333s...these are 3 line kites....one of the handles is in the bottom right corner....one of the great things about these kites is that the outdoors one can be flown 2 ways....frame towards the flyer: makes it more precise withbetter control....then they can also be flown frame away for even higher winds....up around 30mph....that way there is some control lost but you can still fly safely!!!!
there are 2 indoor 333s (the black/whitte/grey ones)....two out door full size 333s....the one with purple was my first guildwork kite....and it does not even show that much age!!!!then in the middle is a stained glass 333 that some one made for High Flyers and i bought just for the collection... |

above: a great deca.....yes it is a great deca but it is called the GREAT deca....it is the indoor full size deca...in my opinion it is the best indoor quad line kite....but as you see from this page i am biased.....this thing is about ~9 feet wide and three feet tall....but flys in no wind....i am waiting for a new frame that Marc is supposed to be sending me that is going to lighten the whole kite up even MORE!!!!i hope to have a second one made when i scrape up some money....who knows when that will be though.... |

above and to the right: a deca 31....the decas got their names, for the most part, by how many panels they incorporated...the number of pieces adds into the shape of the sail...so the more parts the more camber that could be added into the sail shape...the more camber the more control (for the most part)....there were deca 6s deca 15s and deca 31s....the deca 6 is a great kite overall...good to start with...the deca 15 was designed as teh competition model...then there was the 31...it was desinged as the high end deca...it has the broadest wind range: from 2-30mph....not that i would take this up to 30..i would be much more inclined to bring out one or more a1s....safer that way too....i have found that this kite excells at flying backwards....just the way the sail is shaped it flies better and more controllably backwards esp. in lighter winds... |

2 deca 6s that were made as a pair for my boss....these are great kites....nice average wind range and very reliable....you tell these kites to do something and they do it....noting compared to the day that folded one of these kites in half....because they have four lines they can fly in any direction....forwards sideways backwards and you can even stop them and 'hover' in place....well i was flying the one on the left one day on long lines....i usually fly the decas on lines under 50 feet....well this time was on 120 foot lines....i was flying having a good time and decided to fly towards the ground and stop about 3 feet above the deck....well it almost worked...just as i threw my hands forward to stop the kite a gust of wind came and over powered the kite....as you can see in the picture there is a long 3 piece bow that runs across the back of the kite....kind of expensive rods....especially with the fact that these kites, and thier rods, are about 8 years old at this time....well the kite literally folded in half because i snapped the bow stick at one end where the ferrule comes inside of it...oops....damn funny though.....still scared me quite a bit...lucky for me the rods did not poke any holes in the skin.... |

these are the X handles.....they make all other deca handles obsolete....see those silver stops on the lines facing each other????those make it so that you can adjust the angle of attack on the kite...better high wind...low wind....but the other great part is that you can adjust where the line attachs on the handle and use these handles for ALL of the other decas...the tips are the right size for the great deca and the innermost stops are the right size to use for the minergy....as you can see there is as much work in these handles as there are in the kites themselves....but very worth it!!!! |

this little guy to the right is called a mini serendipity....i got it from guildworks in july '02....since then those who made it are now starting thier own company wind fire designs....but back to the kite....
it is AWESOME....one of my fav's to fly indoors....the skin is actually a plastic sheeting material....and the rods are about .002"looks like a butterfly huh????love it....the reinforcement areas are actually made out of a pearlescent material so it changes colours when flying in front a light.... because it is so fragile when not being flown it live flat in a lexan case that i made for it....
