Cases:

- Mary Kay Letourneau - the one who became famous for starting the trend and then wanting to marry her now adult former student. Note, her "child-like" appearance and mannerisms. There's no question where her primary attractions lie. Also note the maturity of her former student who wants to marry her. Did she deserve to go to prison? Should the state be so involved in people's personal lives or should we be free to love who we choose?

- Margaret De Barraicua - a 30 year-old woman who became famous for having sex with a 16 year-old in a car with her toddler in the back car seat. She is now facing four felony counts of statutory “rape.” Note that the age of consent is 16 in many other states. Are California’s teens less mature when it comes to their own sexual decisions?

- Pamela Joan Turner - a woman described as everything from a “blonde beauty” to simply “hot” faces up to 100 years for having sex with a 13 year-old. Essentially, the law says that the student’s life is over by putting her away for the rest of hers. Yet, anyone who really looks at her wonders why the state is involved in this. Which is worse for “the victim,” the sex or trial and “therapy”? Of course, because, whether conscious or not, we judge people based on their looks, she won’t receive anywhere near as much compared to if she were an older man or even a unattractive woman, such as 37 year-old Toni Lynn Woods.

- Varying viewpoints on the recent teacher-student sex scandals

Theories:

- Rash of Teacher/Student Sex Scandals Due to “Desperate Housewives Effect” – “Basically, DHE is the result of watching the hit ABC series ‘Desperate Housewives’ that just started assaulting our TV screens this past fall. One of the highlights of each episode was the bedroom romps between former model/lonely rich housewife Gabrielle Solis, played by Eva Longoria and her high school-aged stud gardener, John. There’s no doubt in our minds that, as a result of repeated viewings of this show, inter-age romps are now seen as not only accepted, but almost encouraged so that your neighborhood will seem normal . . . like the one on Wisteria Lane.”

- A different opinion - To insinuate that they abandoned their morals because of a show on TV is insulting. To further insinuate that they are sexual predators because of their indiscretions is preposterous. In my eyes, a sexual predator will strike again and again with various children, pursuant of the thrill of the hunt. Mary Kay has remained with Vili. She is unbalanced as all get out, but I wouldn't define her as a predator. What will happen with the two other young women remains to be seen. Should they be allowed the insanity defense? Absolutely not. The phone call of the 1st teacher making her student pinky swear not to tell anyone demonstrates that she was cognizant of every move. Each woman knew exactly what she was doing when her panties hit the floor. However, because of mental state or lack thereof, each chose to ignore the consequences.

Why Teacher-Student Relationships Are On the Rise
(written Friday, March 11th, 2005. Well, technically Saturday, March 12th at 12:25am)

Recently, there have been an increasing number of cases of young female teachers having sex with their male teenage students. Many people have attempted to explain why this is occurring, yet even those proclaimed as "intellectuals" are clueless in this matter. Some people have suggested that all the professional women have become successful and left teaching to the "bottom feeders" as they call them (I'm assuming they mean child-lovers). You see, it's not just teachers and students, it's women and teenage boys and it's happening at an increasing frequency. So, others have suggested that it's related to shows like Dangerous Housewives or The OC depicting images of women giving in to their lusts for younger males, but in fact the answer is far less social and far more biological.

I've written before about the major biological changes that this country is going through, yet it still remains a subject that the general public is unaware of. Perhaps someone else will pick up on it and better vocalize it. If people are ready for the message is another issue entirely. Still, it remains that the same biological changes are making boys more attractive and also increasing women's instincts toward children and youth. Women, unlike your average men, have two-fold sexuality. They desire both to be protected (by a man) and protect (their children). Yet, these instincts are merging, as a result of both internal and external rises in estrogen. They want a younger male (a teenager) with softer (more child-like, to fulfill that instinct) features, and biology in those males is more than happy to comply.

This leads to the Mary Kay Letourneau case (see left). Mary Kay comes across as very immature in interviews, while her former student comes across as more mature than her. Still, both say separately that they really relate to and understand one another. They truly believe that they are in love and who are we to say they can’t be. Love, unfortunately, doesn’t check with the law before it enters a person’s emotions. Of course, it may have just been (at least at first) about the sex. In many (possibly most) of these cases of intergenerational relationships, it is really all about the physical desires toward one another. The music video Stacy’s Mom depicts a teenage boy’s fantasy for an adult woman. And now, because of biology, the feeling has become very much mutual.

I've said before that there is a dramatic rise in homosexual and bisexual (primarily, but not exclusively White) males. Of course, it will be even more obvious when today's preschoolers reach puberty. Though, the young "gays" of today say openly that they are only interested in males their age and younger and not men (which spells trouble in our paranoid society since attractions don't change). Yet, estrogen is on the rise not just in females and male-loving males. A century ago, American women looked like British women. Even just fifty years ago, American women had deeper voices than they do today. Clearly, there's been a change. Also, there are more blondes being born and blondes, female and even male, are remaining more blonde as they grow up than they once did. Blonde women are multiplying in suburbs everywhere and, since most blondes are child-lovers (because maintaining blonde hair depends on the level of estrogen), child-lovers are everywhere today. That wasn't necessarily always the case. Just a couple generations ago, the average boy had much broader shoulders and was generally more masculine as compared to today's average boys of the same age. Never before were there so many boys with hairless legs well into their mid to late teens. The change is obvious and the culprit is biological: Estrogen is on the rise. Today, many males in their twenties have the same pitch of voices that only teenage males had just a generation ago. Whereas it was once common for American men to have hairy chests, it's now almost unheard-of for the new generation.

As for those social influences, Dangerous Housewives and The OC are not the cause of women’s attractions to younger males, but merely a result of the rising number of boyloving women in this country. The days of women and girls falling for handsome men are over. Now they go after men like Adam Brody (age 25) from The OC, who has a youthful face versus his cast mate Chris Carmack (age 24), who has a more masculine face. It could very easily be a symbiotic relationship between young/better-looking males and the females who are increasingly attracted to them. Yet, Leonardo DiCaprio was popular for years because he looked youthful (not macho), but he didn't want to look that way and did what he could to roughen up his edges. You see, at the same time that this changing biology is occurring, American culture still continues to push the concept of the mach cowboy; the man who is a rough, ugly, stupid thug. Part of our culture's puritan fear of homosexuality linked in with the concept that an attractive male is innately "gay." Though, if males would simply embrace their changing biology, they would fall perfectly into the desires of their female counterparts. I knew a cute boy that girls loved who bulked up and wrecked havoc on his body trying to artificially lower his estrogen and raise his testosterone. He gained the respect of his brainwashed, mindless male peers, but the girls were then turned off. So, the fear of homosexuality comes full circle with the alienation of females, who are now living their own (child-filled) lives. With this fate befalling many males today, it's no wonder that women would want to go after them while they are still attractive.

So, how does all of this fit in with women going after teen boys? Well, you can’t have a rise in more feminine males without also having a corresponding rise in more feminine females. Estrogen simply makes people, male or female, more attractive (see Universal Attractions), but any increase in the female hormone also has an impact on whatever internal responses that hormone is designed to regulate. In women, estrogen and hormonal changes pull at their female need to seek out younger, softer forms. Albeit, some of our modern boys may be too feminine, there are still many teenage boys who would gladly help an estrogen-filled, child-like women work out her desires. After all, the modern teenage boy can be both a child in appearance and a man in bed. Sounds like the modern child-loving woman's fantasy. The biology is already in play. The Question is, how will society react? Or, perhaps, the real question is, when will society learn to accept biology? When will my biological attractions be accepted? Most likely long after the same attractions are finally accepted in women.

Afterthought (03/16/05): The only way for these women to have a fair trial would be to have a jury without any child-lovers. Unfortunately, that most often would mean no women. Women (as well as other child-lovers, myself included) too often let their attractions and emotions cloud their judgment. I’ve been guilty of this many times before. And, with women getting hornier (well, mothering instincts are technically “hormonal”, so “horny” does fit) toward boys, female jurors may be picturing their ideal cute boy in their minds. And, of course, a cute face plus perceived ignorance of sexuality equals “innocence” in their minds. At least a non-child-lover man could understand both sides and actually think of the boy as a person and not as an object, which is what many women (and, sadly, for a long time myself as well) think of boys.
