Update on Corey
11/03 - Corey starts crawling.
Other noteworthy events:
8/19/02 - Corey comes home from the hospital.
10/13/02 - Corey is six months old.
11/27/02 - Corey has a rigid bronchoscopy and he is diagnosed with subglottic stenosis.
12/10/02 - Started taking Corey off of the ventilator for a few minutes a day.
12/25/02 - Corey's first Christmas.
1/21/03 - Corey gets his first infection (viral bronchiolitis).
2/5/03 - Corey has a normal CT scan.
3/21/03 - Corey comes totally off of the ventilator for good.
3/24/03 - Corey gets RSV, but manages to stay off of the ventilator.
4/13/03 - Corey's first birthday (He weighs about 17.5 pounds).
5/23/03 - Corey has a flexible bronchoscopy done.  The doctor recommends surgical correction for Corey's subglottic stenosis.
6/18/03 - Corey has is tonsils and adenoids removed.
5/5/03- Corey gets a cranial remolding helmet to reshape his head.
7/18/03 - Corey head is reshaped and we discontinue helmet.
8/20/03 - Corey has surgery at Riley to repair his hypospadia.
9/9/03 - Laser Surgery was attempted with the application of Mitomycin C.  It was unsuccessful due to the nature of the scar tissue.
12/25/03 - Corey's second Christmas.
11/26/03 - Corey is dedicated at the Thanksgiving service at church.
2/04 - Corey starts walking on his own.
3/04 - Corey is off of oxygen.
4/13/04 - Corey turns two years old (weighs about 22 1/2 pounds).
12-1-04 Corey continues to do great.  He had his stoma surgically closed on November 9th and it is healing up well.  Corey is making fast progress in speech.  He currently has his first lung infection without the trach and he is doing surprisingly well.  He is in a Sunday School class for two year olds at church and he loves it.  This Thanksgiving Corey got to go to Bear Lake and Traverse City for the first time.  We thank God for the incredible healing that He has brought Corey and the way that He has blessed our family.
4/26/04 - Corey has the Laryngoplasty and comes home with a stent in ariway two days later.
5/24/04 - Corey's stent is removed and bronchoscopy shows that airway looks good.
6/8/04 - Follow-up bronchoscopy reveals some rescarring.
6/22/04 - Bronchoscopy shows that the scarring has not gotten worse, so trach is downsized.
6/29/04 Corey's trach is capped.
8/16/04 - Corey's trach is taken out.
8/30/04 - Most of Corey's medical equipment is taken out of the house.
9/3/04 - Corey's weight finally reaches the growth chart at the 5th percentile.  He is almost 25 pounds.
11/9/04 - Corey had stoma closure surgery and it went well.
