| My Romeo and I | ||||||||

| I hadnt heard from him in almost a week. The rain poured, a steady beating against the windowpanes. Praying Ill find him, I open our gateway to each other. I sense that hes near me, but a haze is surrounding me; Binding me, trapping me from him, from my love. Distressed, I sink into the couch near the window. The leather cushions groan and give way to my weight. Clutching a pillow to my chest, I fight burning tears. A knock at the door startles me, shattering my trance. Dreading human interaction, I rise and open the door, ready to send anyone away. My heart catches in my throat, my breath refuses to come. Hes standing there, clothes dripping with cold rain. Dark eyes look me up and down, tracing my frame. I take a small step back in disbelief, still not breathing. He crosses the threshold and my breath comes in a hurried gasp; He draws me into a tender embrace. I find myself tasting a sensual kiss. No words yet spoken, we laugh in unwavering disbelief. Another kiss; no, were not lovers dreaming. My clothes are damp now, from the intense contact. Shivering, we express our delight and I my surprise. I close the door, and the house is a biting cold. He removes his wet shirt, and I go to change my own. We lie by the fireplace, wrapped together Under a soft, red quilt, enjoying each others warmth. We fall asleep there, each in the others arms, my Romeo and I. We dream there together in eternal bliss. The cold rain beats down outside, together our love keeps us warm. |
