Hello dear visitors of COREL® By Examples - Kiat's Tutorials. This site has been once established in November 1999 and it was rebuilt in December 1999. As it was, you'll get information only on learning CorelDRAW® and Corel PHOTO-PAINT® through the examples which the instructions are clearly constructed. (well, if isn't clear, then I apologize here, hehehe)
In the previous site, there wasn't information about the author of the site except his nickname - Kiat on the title of the page. Therefore, here the author or the webmaster will introduce himself to the world of COREL®.
I still don't know why he addressed me like that, aii... I'm 18 years old before Y2K. I was born in Malaysia on 29th January 1981. Since I can speak Manglish (Malaysian english with addition words like "lah" or "leh") and I like to eat durians (a kind of thorny fruits), so I decided to live in Malaysia. Here I have my studies (university), my family (parents, brothers and sister) and my social life.
I had my first computer since CorelDRAW® 4.0 era. That was 3 or 4 years ago. I first learnt CorelDRAW® before I even knew how to type! Ridiculous?? I liked drawing and painting since I know how to hold a pencil (you know, in primary school, I used to be the nasty kid who drew Picasso art on my friends' books). Spontaneously, I started my computer life from graphic design. I waited for 2 months until I've bought my first CorelDRAW® tutorial book. It was so cool to draw a square with brillant gradient colours and rotating it. From there, I began to notice the designs in magazines, newspapers and brochures. I criticized the layouts of the articles, the colours matching, the logos and so on. However, nobody bothered me.
My revolution didn't stop. I followed the current of development of COREL®. I used the following version of CorelDRAW® : 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and the latest version 9.0. I found that this program is defintely ideal for home users, students and small companies. Even though it has no enormous number of users, for me, it is sufficient and effective enough. Moreover, it is reasonably priced in the market compared with other "big" names.
I don't there will be more than 5 persons who will read until this paragraph. So, I'll just stop here. However, for those 5 guys who have read till here, don't hesitate to know me, I won't mind to know you! Alright, don't want to waste your time to learn, enjoy your journey here!
