Mike Burris - Music Resume

Mike Burris has studied drumming for over 30 years, playing in a variety of bands from 7th grade on, receiving awards & scholarships toward completing his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Arizona in 1983, with other studies in Programming, Motivational Speaking/Writing, Time & Organization Management, Stock/Fund Trading, Martial Arts, and Christianity/Comparative Religions.

After prodding from his mentor Brian Harris, his drum teaching went full-time in 1997, and since has taught 1000s of students of all ages and abilities through: public/charter/private schools, schools of music, music camps, music stores, churches, community groups, social gatherings/picnics/parties, expos, festivals, drum circles, clinics, workshops, and private & group lessons at his Teaching Studio.

After spending years of researching over 200 books on teaching drums, he is currently finishing a textbook on his revolutionary CoreBeat System for Mastering Technique & Rhythm - Principles, Methods, and Exercises.
