Grading Policy
Grades in Geometry L are based on a points system. All completed
work is to be placed in your notebook or in the in-box on my desk.
Notebook grades (50 points each)
Each day will begin with a warm-up, which is to be placed in your notebook
in the appropriate section. Warm-ups are graded on participation
as part of your notebook grade. Notebook grades also take into account
if you have all your notes in the correct place, as well as overall organization
of your notebook. Notebook grades will be taken once every three
weeks.
Classwork (10 points each)
Classwork is worth 10 points for each worksheet or assignment.
Students can earn 10 points (all complete), 5 points (half or more complete),
or zero (none complete, or only a few problems).
Participation (10 points per day)
Participation is worth 10 points per day. Students can receive
10 points for attendance and participation, 5 points for attendance but
lack of participation, or 0 points for absences. Field trips or other
school events do not count against participation. Students may get
back participation points by bringing a note to the office or to Mrs. Corder
that excuses the absence.
Tests or Major Projects (50 or 100 points each) We will have a test or major project approximately every 3 weeks.
We will follow the Rockingham County grading policy:
94-100 A
86-93 B
78-85 C
70-77 D
0-69 F
