Not Answered

My nightmare started to happen
When I was just a child of seven
We walked in from a day of shopping
To see my daddy praying and in tears

So like a speeding bullet
I ran to my grandmother next door
To tell her my father was ill at home
praying and kneeling on the floor

The illness he'd been fighting
In the many years before
Was winning his life's battle
He was standing at death's door

We stood beside him on the floor
My two sisters and I
We watched in desperation
With tear drops in our eyes

Each of us talked to daddy
And we each said our goodbyes
'Cause we knew that this would be
The last we'd see him alive

Our souls screamed out in agony
Don't take our daddy away
God please don't let this happen
Leave him with us to stay

We need to hold his hand again
Feel his arms around us tight
Telling us we're each the best
Tucking us in bed at night

We can't live without him here Lord
He's protected us all these years
And his love for us fixed everything
And took away our tears

So let the love we have for him
Make this illness go away
Help him Lord get better
So he can live another day

But our prayers were not answered
In the way we wished them to be
'Cause in only a few moments
God took him from my sisters and me

IN LOVING MEMORY
This page is in memory of my father, Denny Joel Hay, born Sept. 1929, died Sept. 1960.  My father was inflicted with Severe Hemophilia. He was the father of me, Janice, and Tammy. I have other sisters whom I love very much, but this poem is about the three sisters, daughters to my father.  My grandson, Tylar, nephew Billy, and other family members have also been inflicted with this. Keep them in your prayers
PROUD

If only daddy could see them now
All of his grandchildren
What wonderful little kids they are
How far that they have come

How proud, I know, he'd be of them,
for the accomplishments  they've made  .  And how they've handled this obstacle
that life has put in their way.

But just like  daddy, they've conquered it,
and climbed across that stone
That falls within their life's path,
the only life they've ever known.

Strength must run in the family.
You can see it in each face.
Nothing gets them down for long
With prayers and with faith

And should their time come sooner
than we think it really should ,
I know daddy is up there waiting
to hold them on his knee

Precious Memories

Remember Me
Although I'm gone for you to see
Look in the sky, in heaven I'll be
I'll watch you from above the stars
I want you to know I'm not that far

Remember memories that we share
Cherish them, they seem so rare
I know you miss me, your love is true
Always remember I love you too

Here in heaven we are one team
I'll be waiting for you
But for now
I'll be in your dreams
