CH SMITHVALE STAR QUALITY OF CORANDY
"BRINDIE"
11 FEBRUARY 1997
Multi Puppy Group Wins and Placings
Brindie is a really sweet, gentle, loving Whippet exactly like what most male Whippets seem to be.  He would follow me around the house, to the bathroom, lie down behind me while I cooked (and almost always tripped over him lying there).   We decided to part with Brindie as we were planning to emigrate in early 2000.  A really super home came up with a retired couple.  We really miss him, but he settled down well and they love him to bits.  He is now one of two Whippets and is one of the boys.  They lost one of their older boys to cancer and the younger one was going frantic and tearing up the house without his friend.  Brindie has already taught him to chase squirrels and bark.  We keep in close contact with the new owners, and will continue doing so.

Brindie looked a lot like his mother Blue when he was young.  I would often get them mixed up.  His colour was just a little lighter in the muzzle and his ears were floppy.  They would NEVER flare.  He also used to talk for his food and any of your food that he wanted.  I find it most endearing when Whippets communicate.  He would dance while he woofed at you.

Brindie became a Champion in 1999 (owner handled except for the final CC as I was 8 months pregnant at the time).   Brindie wasn't shown much as I was showing his litter brother Patch at the time.  He would drag you around the ring trying to play with the other dogs.  He isn't a small boy 22 1/2" but thought he was when he would climb on your lap.  He was rather difficult to show as he was very strong.  He won 3 Best Puppies, and a Hound Puppy Group 1 & 2.  He just unfortunately didnt stop growing.
