My sister, who is an OTR truck driver, insisted I go with her during my recuperation, before I had to drift back to reality. We had a ball, coast to coast, border to border. It really reminded me of how beautiful life really was and how glad I was to be there to enjoy it. One night after a hard day of driving we pulled into a truck stop to sleep for a few hours. My bed was the top bunk, hers the bottom bunk. I was awakened by her calling my name and gently shaking me. She asked, "Did your bag fall off or something?" I looked down and oh brother what a mess!! I ask her "did it leaked down on your bed" and her reply was "no, I just woke up and thought a cattle truck was pulling in next to us and couldn't see which side they were pulling on. When I couldn't see them anywhere I figured out it was you." We still laugh about it when we get together. It was a real close moment between sisters!!!

Several days after returning home from my ostomy surgery, my seven year old nephew asked if he could see the bag. He was curious to see what was underneath. When I showed him, he said, "Oh, gross!" After I explained in detail, he replied, "Cool...you can catch your farts!".
