Mission Today
“God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him will never die but have eternal life.”
John 3:16

The world is so beloved to God’s heart.  He has created the world to enjoy His love and live in the joy of His fellowship.  Even after the fall of man, God still loved humanity and desired it's return again to Him.

Therefore, God sent the prophets in the Old Testament and gave them the law.  Then He sent His only Begotten Son to redeem the world and save it through the cross.

The Lord Jesus, in His great Love, sent His disciples to the world and He prayed that they would succeed in their mission to return the world to His intimate fellowship.

In this manner the church was founded and was sent to the world to seek the lost, heal the sick, comfort the sad, and lead all to enjoy God’s love.  For this reason, the Lord sent St. Mark to enlighten us by His Gospel and to believe in Him.  So the Church of Alexandria was established to be a blessing to all the world, not only in the past, but also in the present.  And God in His love and grace, sent us our Holy Father, His Holiness Pope Shenouda III to lead the Church to be a blessing to the world.  Out of the Pope’s love to God, he encouraged the Church to expand to lead the world spiritually.

Part of the responsibilities of the Church of martyrs and saints is to care for the poor pagan nations in Africa who are near to God’s tender heart to find their rest and healing.  Mission began to be a solid part in the work of the Church and by God’s grace we have churches in nine African countries:  Kenya, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, South Africa, D.R. Congo, Tanzania, Uganda, and Ivory Coast.  The work in these countries involves preaching the Gospel, caring for the poor and diseased, planting churches, baptizing them to be joined to the Living Body of Christ.  The mission offered, over the past several years, an opportunity for our youth abroad to share in the joyful work of God in Africa.  There are plenty of miracles that happen everyday in Africa and God’s name is glorified, and the name of the Coptic Church became known and is respected by all.  But we should know that the mission work is not limited to a few people.

Everyone who loves the Lord has the responsibility to speak about Him and should share in God’s mission. You are also invited to share in this blessed work.  You can offer some of your time, gifts, or money, to share in the blessing of working with God to embrace all the world.  We pray that we work together in God’s Mission to bless the world so we also will be blessed according to God’s promise.

We will do our best to inform you regularly about the news of our Mission so that you may rejoice and pray for us as we pray for you.
