OK, lemme be honest. The picture from my home page ISN'T me at my largest. It's me from 2000 when I was probably 30 pounds lighter than my high of 300. OK, so call me vain, but it's one of my better "large-size" shots. Below are me at all levels...so there goes the vanity idea! Now, I've never been at what many would consider a "normal" weight. The closest I came was after returning from Germany as an exchange student in 1977...many, many moons ago. Since my "family" didn't own a car, I had to walk or bike wherever I went. Unbeknownst to me, as I wasn't on the scale all the time, I came back to my senior year in high school at 135. Too bad I didn't decide to stay there!! From that point on it was back to the old ways...drive everywhere and eat (and drink) most everything, resulting in my ultimate balloon to 300.

My wedding in 2000. Yup, it was a luau theme. Much fun! That's me with my best maid of honor, Kelly. She's been with me at all three (yes, three!) of my weddings.

I'm there on the left at a company dinner in Las Vegas in April 2003. I THOUGHT I looked pretty good when I walked out my hotel room, but when I saw the picture...I hid it quick-like! Look...I can hardly clasp my hands together in front!!

These were the capper. My 25-year high school reunion was in August 2003. I was on the committee and made most all the arrangements. I had a blast, it was great seeing everyone again, but the one thing I FORGOT to do was look in the mirror. One of my friends sent me these photos and I nearly died. I hadn't really realized how I'd let myself go. That's when I decided...this is it. Get yourself in gear and DO something about this. I started a week later, September 2, 2003.

The Journey's Begun!!
- 5 pounds and one week A week after I started I visited Kelly, who lives near the Jersey Shore in Toms River. "Oh no!" I thought, "A week into my program and we're going to the Boardwalk!" Visions of zeppoles, cheesesteaks, pizza and french fries danced in my head. Nutrition Hell (or heaven, depending on your point of view). Well, it wasn't so bad. I got to see a good friend and whatever we ate (which, after all that agita wasn't much) got walked off. After all, it IS a board WALK.
More pictures coming on a monthly basis.

Sunday, May 2, 2004 - 40 pounds, 260 First front & side shots. Figured they'd be the best way to see what's actually happening. I must say, though, that I was a bit disappointed. My husband's been very good in commenting on the loss and how well I've been doing and I definitely feel it, but I guess I just thought I'd look different 40 pounds down. It's not as good as I thought, but I've gotta look on the bright side. These pants were unzippable just a short time ago and were actually a bit loose fresh out of the dryer, so that should be telling me something. Gotta keep looking on the bright side to keep on going!

West Point 2003 My nephew's last year there and we all went up to watch the parade and football game. Great picture of him, lousy one of me...

Sunday, June 6, 2004 - 52 pounds, 248 OK, I'm gonna first wear the same pants I wore last month for this picture. They're a lot baggier now and frankly...they're almost falling off of me! I've NEVER hit 50 pounds before on a weight-loss journey, and this was a big one. I was SOOOO happy to reach that milestone!

Wanted to show just HOW baggy these pants were. And to think...I couldn't zip these things a few months ago!

Same Day Went out and got some new clothes, mainly ones for my upcoming trip to Germany. Finally something that's not hanging off of me!
This is a page of pictures of me "along the way", in some, as I like to call them, "unofficial" progress pictures, enjoying life and gettin' smaller!!

Progress in Germany July 11, 2004 -60 pounds, 240 This was taken in my time-share apartment while on vacation in Germany. Had to get it in early in the trip, as I KNEW I wasn't going to be counting points and might look different at the end! Didn't do all that badly (gained 3.2 pounds over 2 weeks) considering I ate and drank my way through the country. The saving grace was that we walked EVERYWHERE.
All the girls with me in the center, sorta.
Here I am giving out awards. Hand me the one for gaining the most weight!!!
And yet another lovely angle, from above. HELP!!

Progress in San Diego October 7, 2004 -73 pounds, 227 I've FINALLY fit myself into pants size 18, and even THEY'RE now getting baggy. Hotdog! This is just before our annual cocktail party at the NAB Radio Show. Front shots looks good, but side shot doesn't seem to be all that changed. Oh well, I'll get there.

Saturday, March 5, 2005 -74 pounds, 226 Geez, haven't posted any shots recently. I've gotten back on the band-wagon, though and have been exercising every day, and it's starting to make a big difference, I can tell. The weight's not that different from back in October, I've been yo-yo-ing, but I can feel a change in my shape.
