Just a few of my long-time buds that I like to hang out with.
Ah Hillary...too bad we live so far apart! High school buddy who's now in Texas, went there to go to college and just never came back to the Garden State, although its pull is more intense each year. We visit each other every year...she comes here, I go there, just to do "girl stuff" and hang out. What fun!
Cece...one of my oldest friends, and that doesn't have anything to do with age, it's just that we've been buddies since the hair-pulling, silly-giggling, brake-less bike-riding days of the 2nd grade!
Although I haven't known Kelly as long (we met freshman year of college), she's been a real stand-up pal...meaning she's stood up for me as my maid of honor in all three...yes I said three...of my weddings. Here I am getting lei'd at my August 2000 wedding to George. A wedding just wouldn't be a wedding without Kelly by my side! But...now that I think about it...NONE of these marriages have worked out, so maybe I'd better rethink having her right there by my side...
OK, here's my tribute to the Internet, great thing that it is. Thank you, Al Gore, for inventing it (yeah, right!). This is Laurie, whom I was friends with in grade school and hadn't seen in YEARS. Turns out she found me in Classmates.com and emailed me. As luck would have it, I was going to be in her neck of the woods on a business trip and voila! We hooked up again and it was as if the years had never been. Thank you, Classmates.com (non-compensated endorsement of said website).
Lynn and I at my wedding (yeah, yeah, the last one). She and I met during our junior year in college, studying in Heidelberg, Germany. Well, maybe "studying" is too strong a word. "Attending the university," while cracking a few books and cracking open a heck of a lot more German beers may've been more to the point! What a great time we had...new travels, experiences, people...whoa, and what people we met, but that's another story (or two or three).
Home
In September 2003 I went down to visit Kelly and we visited the Seaside Heights boardwalk. She lives in Toms River, just a hop, skip and a jump away from the beach, so visiting her is like going on vacation!
The Seaside Heights boardwalk and lemonade stand to the right, sand and surf below. Ahh...what memories Hillary and I have of this great seaside resort, the destination of every born & bred Jersey girl, summer after high school graduation, carefree young coeds-to-be, cooking lobster and inviting down our boyfriends...umm...I digress. Carry on.
