I started building kayaks and canoes 2 years ago as a hobby, mainly to keep off the streets, out of the wife's hair and in my workshed.
This was the commencement of a big learning curve, specially since my only major woodworking venture was the conversion of a 24' motor sailer to a motor launch. Minor projects have been in woodturning our native timbers and cabinet-making in (yuck) chipboard.
It has been worth it though. To see the new wood pattern showing through the fibreglass and thinking " I did that"....and then.......taking it for a paddle........

If you would like to own a Classic Strip-Plank Kayak and you don't have the time and live in Australia, send me an EMail and I'll reply as soon as the phone is free. Like I said, I build them as a hobby, so, if the software designer gets his royalties and my boss is happy, you can expect to pay a minimal amount for a Classic.
