Smashing Spaghetti

INGREDIENTS:

Lb. Lean Ground Beef

Tsp. Salt -- to taste

Tsp. Black Pepper

Ea. Spanish Onion -- Thinly sliced

Med. Green Pepper -- Chopped

Cloves Garlic

1

Sm. Zuchinni -- Chopped into half circles 0.2 cm thick

Ea.. Celery Stalks chopped

Lg. Field Mushrooms --Chopped in med size bits.

Cup Spaghetti Noodles

Tbsp Italian Herbs and Spices
1 Can Crushed Tomatoes
4 Tbsp. Tomato paste

PREPARATION:

  1. Boil a Large pot of Water and cook pasta as per packet instructions. When cooked run under cold water set aside..
  2. In a large Frying Pan or Pot, brown the  Ground Beef  with 1/2 the Garlic, all the salt and pepper, and the italian herbs and spices at MEDIUM-HIGH Heat.  Transfer to a  Bowl and set aside ( Keep It Warm).
  3. Brown the onions with the remaining garlic for approx 5 minutes or until somewhat opaque. Add green peppers and saute another 2-3 minutes. Add the mushrooms and the celery and cook another minute.
  4. Add the Beef, the crushed tomatoes, the tomato paste and 1 cup of water. Bring to the boil.
  5. Add the Zuchini  and simmer for 10 minutes. 
  6. Run the Pasta under hot water and serve onto plates.  Add desired spaghetti sauce to the pasta.
  7.   Season with Parmesean cheese if desired.  Great with Crusty bread.

Note:  A little red wine or beer added to the Beef can add some exciting flavours.   Or add some fresh fried medium crispy bacon. Delicious!
