| Goldfest 2004: Review 29th May 2004 at 4.30pm. This can only mean one thing for any discerning rock fan. We're at Goldfest and it's time for Coping With Crisis to take to the stage. Having had lots more gigging experience, they're even more confident than this time last year and the difference in Matt is clearly marked. Stevie 'That's my boy' James couldn't have been prouder himself. CWC have brought a tentful of loyal supporters, one of whom I had the honour of being stood next to - Matt's grandmother. I bet she didn't think she'd be stood here today when she was changing your nappy all those years ago...She's beaming (That's my grandson!) while Matt rocks it up for 'Communication Breakdown'; a really strong song. 'Just A Boy' sees Stevie James 'Rock God' and Paul 'Son of Rock God' or 'Rock God 2: This Time It's Drums' sharing the same stage and it's difficult to say who's enjoying it more. Didn't expect to hear my own words yelled back at me ("Don't do that you little turd!"), however (thanks so much). Overall, one of the strongest performances of the day, and I hope they've earned a higher billing for next year. If they continue to develop at this rate, more gigs are sure to follow soon.
