14.1 Reflection

Research Paper Copyright Laws

Lately, cheating amongst schoolchildren is on the up rise.  I admit that I am very troubled over this aspect of America's education.  I think that as educators, we need to teach copyright laws to our students, and I feel the best way to teach any concept is through the usage of the concept.  I plan to post the copyright laws in my classroom.  I plan to make these laws as part of any student's grade.  I think by helping the students use and apply the laws is more effective than just posting or reading them.  Furthermore, the earlier we teach concepts concerning plagiarism the earlier the children learn to give credit to others.

Copyright Laws from Department of Public Instruction

I plan to use technology in all aspects of my teaching.  Therefore, I need to be fresh on the copyright laws for multimedia usage.  I plan to keep these in a notebook that my students and I can refer to if any questions arise during the creation of our writings or presentations.

Technology in the Educational Program

I believe that as an educator I must first educate myself at the local level.  Therefore, I went to the Board of Education Policy Manual and researched about the various requirements concerning using technology in the classroom.  This policy will give me insight on what our county allows or disallows concerning the usage of technology such as following certain copyright laws.
