Native American Tribes of North Carolina
This lesson integrates social studies and technology very well. As most students know how to use the Internet, this part of the lesson should not take a great deal of time. I probably will limit how many sites that the students must search. This lesson will take several days, as students will be creating PowerPoint presentations or videos. I plan to allow the students complete this project in class as many of them will not have access to these two types of technology in their homes.
I think that the student should enjoy this topic as they will be making choices of whom and how they want to study. I feel that when students make choices concerning their learning it encourages and empowers them to be risk takers in their learning. It creates enthusiasm and motivation as well. By using the various technologies within this lesson, I think the students will be ready for future encounters concerning technology.
