After getting to know the interests of the children in my classroom, I believe the North Carolina Standard Course of Study to be an invaluable tool, which I can use in the course of planning lessons that will best meet the needs and interests of my students. I truly think when I follow this course of study I will be teaching what my students will need in order to prepare for their end of grade testing required by our state. By focusing on the above-mentioned items, my job will be more challenging as well as rewarding.
Finally, I feel that North Carolina
leads in the field of education as many states look to our state to gather
ideas and concepts, which they then use to integrate as models for their
educators. I am proud North Carolina works towards supporting their
teachers in the area of planning for a student’s future.
