Materials: Internet Access for Chamber of Commerce Addresses
Paper
Markers
Glue 
Scissors
Procedures: 1.  Students will be working in groups and each group will be assigned a Western North Carolina County
     in which to research.  Students will try and obtain an address for the Chamber of Commerce for each
     county.
2.  Students will then compose a letter to Chamber of Commerce asking for information concerning the 
     county such as: 
     Location (maps), colleges, business, commerce, famous historical places or people, etc.
3.  Groups will then design a brochure or travel poster that must contain 2 book citations, 3 Internet 
     citations, and 4 pictures of their county commerce, colleges, famous places, etc.
4.  Students will follow copyright guidelines listed in the classroom.
5.  Students will present their information as a class presentation.
6.  Students must list reference page separately from project.
7.  Students may also have the option of creating a PowerPoint presentation as well.
Assessment: I will grade the projects based on the accuracy of information and whether the students met the rubric as
stated above.
