| Procedures: | 1. Students will be working in groups and each group will be assigned a Western North Carolina County |
| in which to research. Students will try and obtain an address for the Chamber of Commerce for each | |
| county. | |
| 2. Students will then compose a letter to Chamber of Commerce asking for information concerning the | |
| county such as:
Location (maps), colleges, business, commerce, famous historical places or people, etc. |

| 3. Groups will then design a brochure or travel poster that must contain 2 book citations, 3 Internet | |
| citations, and 4 pictures of their county commerce, colleges, famous places, etc. | |
| 4. Students will follow copyright guidelines listed in the classroom. | |
| 5. Students will present their information as a class presentation. | |
| 6. Students must list reference page separately from project. | |
| 7. Students may also have the option of creating a PowerPoint presentation as well. | |
| Assessment: | I will grade the projects based on the accuracy of information and whether the students met the rubric as |
| stated above. |
