Materials: Computers with Internet access
Names of different Native American Tribes found in North Carolina
Video Tapes and Digital Camcorders
Powerpoint
Time Period: Several days
Procedures: 1.  The students will work in groups of four, and each group will select a Native American tribe located in North Carolina.  The students will use the Internet to find information concerning these tribes such as their name, religion, food, art, region found, etc.
2.  Students will determine if the information they have found is authentic and reliable.
3.  Students will type up a one to two page summary of their Native American tribe along with a biography page citing the sources they used to complete this assignment.
4.  Students will choose how they would like to present their findings as long as they use technology to do so (PowerPoint or video).
5.  Once student complete their research, they will present their findings to the class.
Unique Learner: By allowing the students to work in groups, I think this will give the unique learners an opportunity to shine as they can collaborate with their peers for any questions they may have.  I would like to make some of these students group leaders as well to encourage them to take risks and build their self-confidence.
Assessment: The students and I will design a rubric that I will use to assess their paper, resources, and presentations.
